Seeing older children at nursery helps as they want to emulate. I left it until my daughter was 2, my son 2 1/2, and both times it was then done in a couple of days. I also didn't bother with a potty. I didn't see the point of teaching them to use that and then teach them again to use the toilet - you can get seats that fit those and get a step. I also didn't use those pull up pants, everyone just told me that it prolongs the process and let's face it unless they feel uncomfortable because they are wet nothing is going to encourage them to stop doing that. Good luck :-)Georgia Rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08617952846902258246noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-32636293950473222902016-01-05T03:46:05.366-08:002016-01-05T03:46:05.366-08:00My little G has obviously failed the target as she...My little G has obviously failed the target as she is two and a quarter and occasionally sits on the potty saying, "It's not working." I blame modern nappies- they are so absorbent and comfortable.Lizanne Lloydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10929383263680527758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-88688486613586334872016-01-05T02:58:48.999-08:002016-01-05T02:58:48.999-08:00A pattern is emerging..... summer it is...A pattern is emerging..... summer it is...Carol Hedgeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10359578624109905400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-53780909153101751482016-01-05T02:58:26.402-08:002016-01-05T02:58:26.402-08:00I think Summer is going to be crucial in this...I think Summer is going to be crucial in this...Carol Hedgeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10359578624109905400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-43106930382715100292016-01-05T02:55:08.254-08:002016-01-05T02:55:08.254-08:00you really need the warm weather, but little girls...you really need the warm weather, but little girls usually make up their own minds as to when...anita daweshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03872644106384365588noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-56912207333387138192016-01-05T01:40:58.166-08:002016-01-05T01:40:58.166-08:00Both daughters left the whole business as late as ...Both daughters left the whole business as late as possible - till children showed some interest - so no 'must do this now they're two - waited till the summer (so much easier, than struggling with winter clothes) and had collapsible potties that aren't quite so huge for lugging about. It was all over fairly quickly. Daughter one was getting on for 3 before she was dry and daughter two made up her own mind at 10 months she wasn't having any of these nappies in a hot climate (we were in SA) and took them off. She trained herself by copying her tardier, more laid back sister and was dry within a couple of weeks. Just different personalities, that's all. Why should there be a target? As for carrying potty around, oh please!!Vallypeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08309284606572565277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-24401385732375966252016-01-05T00:45:46.665-08:002016-01-05T00:45:46.665-08:00It clearly traumatised many of us because I can...It clearly traumatised many of us because I can't remember when it happened for my three either! My grandson is 3 and has been completely dry in the day for about a year, give or take. There’s still the odd wet nappy-pants, or whatever they are called, every so often during the night. A potty was not carried around though, that would have been a step too far :-)BetweenTheLineshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13450847064064068248noreply@blogger.com
