The anti-immigration fervor is most definitely a turn off for a lot of people.'" - this comment coming at the end says it all.

I concur wholeheartedly. I came originally from the UK, and I am beyond shocked. It is beyond shameful. Still, I opted to naturalise as a Norwegian citizen (Norway doesn't allow dual nationality, although that may change). So for my part, I am no longer a British citizen, and because of "this side" referred to here have absolutely no desire to return.

I cannot tell you how sad this Brexit makes me feel. "This side" of your society is most upsetting to me.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11737426996296380716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-44352633372027430162017-11-04T10:11:55.748-07:002017-11-04T10:11:55.748-07:00It is JUST like Nazi Germany. I am sure there were those who were well-intentioned about the whole thing and had no idea it would lead to such conflict, abuse and humiliation, but they must have been naive not see it. I am appalled. It is easy to sink into helplessness and believe we can do nothing. Which is why blogs like this are important - we can, and must, keep telling these stories. I will not sit by and pretend that any of this is done in my name.JOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03127111575563904349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2681775564258628407.post-74487719736390280812017-10-28T01:19:55.140-07:002017-10-28T01:19:55.140-07:00Thanks. The targeting of Unis currently by a Tory MP, and the Daily Mail revisionist headlines reminds me of when my mother was made to leave. It's the same mindset. But if it is stopped, I can see the streets getting really dangerous and potentially riotous.

A clamping down on press propaganda should have been passed in law many, many years ago - although I know you then get the 'free speech' argument in. But people should be held accountable for lies - legally. Including politicians. We definitely need that to start happening.

As a Brit in the EU, I am not experiencing any hostility - a few questions about whether Brexit affects me (it does), but outside of that nothing. This seems to be only going on in the EU. But many of my British expat friends have are all applying for citizenship, it is the only way to be sure.
Miranda Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11166000575283710451noreply@blogger.com
